of the year
the month of Elul
is finally here.
Rosh Hashona is
just around the corner
time to start
putting myself in order.
The Shofar
blasts every morning
hopefully my ears hear
the sounds of warning.
The time is now
to get serious
can no longer afford
to be oblivious.
Our actions and thoughts
need accounting
the time for trial
is mounting
Where are
we going?
what are
we doing?
Are we spending
our time right
are we serving Hashem
with all our might?
What changes in life
need to be made
before the opportunities
to make them fade.
A full evaluation
of what we said and did
before, for a Good Year
we can enter our bid.
Want a New Year of life
to give it to you, I'm prepared
just improve every day
from nothing be scared.
Looking only
for your true repentance
dislike when you serve
just by happenstance
Come closer to me
my child
do not live the life
of the wild.
You’re on this world
for a reason
keep my commandments
don't commit treason.
Return to me
with your full heart
never allow our love
for each other to depart.
Consider your actions
of your thoughts be mindful

no need to be doubtful.
Just put in your full effort

with all your might.

difficult to win
