ELUL REFLECTIONS

The Holy month of Elul is upon us once again. Everyone is getting ready to really connect and come closer to Hashem, our Father, our Master, our King. That Hashem reigns supreme is our national anthem. We cry out in unity, “אין לנו מלך אלא אתה”, we have no King except for you.
Should be thinking about how we spent our life the past year, while in the presence of the King. Did we study Torah, perform Mitzvos, Daven, give Tzedakah, do Chesed, take care of our families properly, as we should have? Can we truly say that we made Hashem proud, as we reflect on our actions and behavior? After all, our Father in Heaven deserves to have some Naches from us, in return for all the blessings, He bestowed upon us and our families the past year.
Before asking for another year of health, sustenance, naches, success and well-being, it’s only right to first thank Hashem for all He has graciously showered upon us till now. Then we must make ourselves worthy of His continued blessings for the coming year. This can be accomplished by reflecting upon our past misdeeds, verbally repenting for them and sincerely committing to live more sincere Torah life’s in the future.
Finally, by pledging our allegiance to our beloved KING and altogether coronating HASHEM exclusively by calling out ה’ מלך, ה’ מלך, ה’ ימלוך , לעולם ועד.
