FAMILY CHESED FIRST

Lets consider the following question:
Is it fair to say, that just because the Chesed we are doing for someone else, happens to be a member of our family, that the value of that Chesed is diminished in the eyes of Hashem?
Not likely.
Every little bit of Chesed we do, with any Jew, is precious to Hashem, since we are all His children. However, when Hashem observes a spouse doing Chesed with their own spouse, or a parent helping out one of their own children, He is even more pleased and appreciative. After all, their Neshomos and care have been entrusted to us by Hashem. Real Chesed, the way the Torah views it, starts at home.
It comes before any other Chesed one might consider doing outside of their home. Just because Chesed at home is an obligation, doesn’t minimize the value of any action we may take to benefit another family member.
On the contrary, it increases the value, in that we are fulfilling our Heavenly responsibility.
We are doing the Chesed, Hashem wants us to do, before doing the Chesed we want to do.
BEFORE WE VOLUNTEER OUR SERVICES OUTSIDE OF OUR HOME, WE MUST VOLUNTEER OUR SERVICES INSIDE OF OUR HOME. OUR OWN FAMILY MUST ALWAYS BE OUR FIRST PRIORITY.
Those whose lives and needs depend on our performance daily, must always be considered first, before anyone else or anything else.
Chesed begins at home.
Let’s make CHESED AT HOME our first priority.
